Contact

Tell us about your business.

One email gets you a real reply from one of us — not a contact form that disappears into a queue. The first conversation is free and there's no obligation after it.

Who you'll hear from
Kayono Blake or Weed-Therley Jean-Charles. We both build and we both talk to clients.
Where we are
Indianapolis, Indiana. In person when it makes sense, otherwise we'll work from what you send us.
What it costs to ask
Nothing. The first conversation is free, and you'll get a fixed quote in writing before any work starts.

Make it easy

What to put in the email.

None of this is required — send a single line if that's what you've got. But answering these gets you a straight answer faster.

  • What the business is

Barbershop, restaurant, gym, trade. Where you are, and how long you've been running.

  • What you have now

A link to your current site if there is one, or the Facebook or Instagram page you've been using instead.

  • What you want it to do

More phone calls, online orders, bookings, or just to stop looking dated next to the shop down the road.

  • Roughly when and roughly what

Any deadline you're working to, and the budget you had in mind. Neither has to be exact.

Questions

The things people ask before they email.

Do I own my website and domain?

Yes. The domain, the files, and the hosting account go in your name from the start — not ours. If you ever want to move to someone else, you take the site with you and you don't need our permission or a phone call to do it.

How much does a website cost?

New websites start at $500. That's the standing price, not a promotional rate. Redesigns and promotional video are quoted per project — email us and you'll get a number back, not a sales call.

Whatever the figure is, you get it in writing with the scope attached before any work begins, and it doesn't move unless the job changes and you agree to it first.

How long does it take?

We build to launch in weeks, not months. The honest answer is that it depends mostly on you — how quickly you get us your photos, your text, and your sign-off on the design. Projects stall waiting on content far more often than they stall in the build.

Can you work with the site I already have?

Usually, yes — that's the redesign service. We'll look at what's there and tell you honestly whether it's worth keeping and fixing or faster to rebuild. Your existing web address and your position in Google search stay intact either way.

I don't have photos or know what to write. Is that a problem?

No. Copy for the site is included, either written from scratch or your own words cleaned up. For photography we'll either shoot your space or help you source images that fit. If video makes sense for your business, that's something we do too.

What happens after it launches? Am I locked into a monthly fee?

No retainer, no lock-in. You get a walkthrough of how to update the site yourself — hours, prices, photos — and after that you only pay us again if you want us to do something. Hosting and the domain are billed by those providers directly, in your name.

Why should I hire a studio with no portfolio yet?

That's a fair question and we're not going to dodge it. KBW Studio is new and taking its first clients, which we say plainly on the studio page rather than filling this site with invented case studies.

What you can judge us on is this website. It's built the same way yours would be — written by hand, no page builder, no bought template. If you like how it reads and how quickly it opened on your phone, that's the work.

What won't you take on?

Large ecommerce catalogs, custom booking or reservation systems, anything with user accounts and logins, and ongoing SEO or ad management retainers. If that's what you need, we'll tell you on the first call and point you somewhere better rather than take a deposit.

Ready

That's everything. Send the email.

Worst case, you get an honest opinion about the site you already have and it costs you nothing.
